Expect Delays: I-95 Lane Closures Underway As Monthslong Project Starts

Lane closures for pavement and roadway inspections on I-95 started on Sunday, July 1,  the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

The intermittent nightly closures, in both directions, will be in Greenwich and Stamford and continue until Nov. 15.

The evaluation/inspection is part of the first phase of work for a future pavement rehabilitation, bridge repair and safety improvement project on I-95 between the New York State line and the I-95 bridge over Greenwich Avenue and Rippowam River in Stamford.

The closures will be Monday to Friday from fro, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Shoulder closures may be implemented on I-95 northbound and southbound on Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 5 .m. to 9 p.m.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work area.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in the vicinity.
